Xa Loi Tower, Da Nang

Built in 1997, Xa Loi tower is the first place we reached after coming out of escalator.

This tower is visible from the road among the trees and so is the escalator.

The 28 meter high tower has 7 floors. Inside the tower, there are nearly 200 Buddha images. You can only enter the main altar but cannot go up.
The seven floors represent the 7 types of emotions in a human: anger, love, happiness, greed, hatred, resentment and delusion.

The altar has Buddha( Thich Ca). On his sides are Ananda and Sariputra (the first two disciples of Buddha).
There are also 18 Arhat (those who have achieved spiritual enlightenment) and all Boddhisattvas.
The tower has 6 sides which represent the 6 senses as vision, taste, smell, touch, hear and perception. It represents the values of Buddhism.
The wall around the tower is decorated with dragon and the Dhamma Chakra.

The climb is not very challenging, though one has to be careful during rains when it tends to becomes slightly slippery.
